Finance

I do a little accounting and everything else for this payroll company. Will I have a better chance at landing a job compared to working as a teller? Or is being a teller better?

I’m planning on applying for a finance position in May after I receive my degree in finance.

Thanks!

Of course you say you want a CLI. But, I’ve read where people say they explained a situation.

Just wanting to know to have a better chance at an increase. Also, if I still have a $95 bal on my Cap1 should I wait and pay that off first before I call?

thanks

Hey everyone…been lurking around and need some advice on rebuilding credit for me and my husband. We stopped paying on our CC’s in March 2010, filed chap 7 in May and were discharged the end of Sept 2010. I pulled our Equifax credit scores this week and they are 610 and 615, everyhting seems to be reporting correctly on all of our reports. We have a car loan and a student loan that are never late.

Our goal is to save up a down payment and rebuild our credit enough to buy a home in 2-3 years. I am having trouble finding a credit card and hoping you all have some advice. I applied for both of us at Hooters, Cap One secured and unsecured and HSBC unsecured. They were all denied. The letter from HSBC says denial is due to “Serious deliquency on at least one other account” and Capital One says “…there are too many deliquent past or present Capital One credit obligations.”

My question is when will these CC companies even begin to consider us? I see so many others with no problem at all getting approved for these cards after bankruptcy. Is there someone I should call, would that give me a better chance?  I am concerned at the same time with putting too many inquiries on our reports looking for credit. This whole process is really stressing me! Any advice is appreciated, especially about leniant secured credit cards I should apply for. Thanks!

I have goofed and disputed online. I have not been happy with the “verification” efforts and results. I plan to send new disputes through the mail for now on. WIll the results of my online disputes affect my written disputes? Will they be seen as frivolous and redundant by the CRA?

Is it true that handwriting a dispute has a better chance of success instead of typing?

Hi all,

From 2007-2008, I had to leave school to deploy to Iraq.  During this time, I missed payments on two student loans I had through CFNC.  Actually, to be fair, I thought I had suspended billing during the deployment.  Now I have graduated, and today found out that I have two 90+ late payments on my EQ report from March 2008.  Obviously, I want to get these reports removed.

I am at a loss for how to word the GW letter.  Also, during the past two years at school, I have not been making payments on any of my loans.  They have been in continuous deferrment which ends May 2011.  Later this year I expect to pay off a sizeable portion of the student loans with my re-enlistment bonus.  Would I have a better chance of success if I paid off most of the loans first, and then tried to get the negative statements removed?

From what I have read on this forum, success with CFNC has been hit or miss.  Any past experience or suggestions would be appreciated.

Hello,

I have been following these forums pretty closely taking advice, and learning as I read. However I am fairly new to credit cards, and have some questions to ask. Currently I have 3 credit cards:

Bank of America ($1,500) opened 2007

Navy Federal ($1,000) opened 2009

Capital One ($1,000) opened 2008

Right now they are all pretty much all close to 80% Utilization. However I plan on paying all of them off this month. My question is this… If I paid them all off at once, would I have a better chance at getting a CLI on anyone of these cards? I have never been late on making payments on these cards at all. Also would paying all of them off boost my FICO score?

Thanks!
