I have two revolving accounts. One is a credit card and the other is a line of credit. Both accounts have been closed, and I made special agreements to pay them in a fixed amount monthly. Both accounts get reported on the credit bureaus as revolving. Is there any chance to ask the creditor to report those as installments since they are being paid in fixed payments each month and the credit lines have been closed? If so, will I see improvements in my credit score and report? Thanks.

I have two Bank of America revolving accounts under my belt. One is a credit card and the other is a line of credit. Both accounts have been closed for more than a year, and I made special agreements to pay them. Both accounts get reported on the credit bureaus as revolving. Is there any chance to ask BoA to report those as installments since they are being paid in fixed payments each month and the credit lines have been closed? If so, will I see improvements in my credit score and report? Thanks.

Hello all!

When I was younger, I was stupid.  Plain and simple.  However, 7+ years later, I haven’t missed payments…however, those delinquent accounts (car/CC) are still showing on my credit report!  They were never reported to collections and there was never any agency involved.  No bankruptcy…nothing…someone please tell me why this would be?  I thought 7 years was the cut off.  Those accounts had been closed or inactive, yet the negative history still remains?
