Hello Everybody,

Well my name is Lily and I am here because I need advice on impoving my Credit Score.

My parents are in DEBT and they are loosing our home the only hope we have is Refinancing, My father wants me to give it a try. I am the only one with a Decent Credit Score.

My Fico is 585.

The only problem is that i have credit card debt, i have never been late or missed any payments. the problem is that i have used more than my 30% on the cards.

I am carrying a balance on probably 10 cards.

Recently one of my dogs got sick and we couldnt affor the vet bill so i applied for several cards and i believe that had a negative impact on my credit.

can someone give me advice on how or what will help me  improve my credit.

Thank you very much.

BTW: My total debt is about: $7,000 (credit Cards) and i have an auto loan of ($19,000)

Hi,

I need advice on how to handle a redeemed repossesion from Oct-2005.  I purchased a ford pick-up in 2003, then in 2005 I fell on some hard times and they repo’d the truck.  I borrowed money from my in-laws to get the truck back and I paid it without anymore issues but it still haunts me on my CRs.  I have purchased a new home and moved since then….so my question is….what would you fine “scumbags” do to have it removed…..

BTW, I was only joking about the scumbag comment (it is a hot topic currently)…you all are very helpful and knowledgable and I for one have gained loads of information browsing the boards here….

Greetings,

I’ve been reading Fico forum posts for over 8 months since I’ve been working on repairing my credit.

I have enjoyed several of the postings and found them very informative and helpful.

I was wondering if you guys (or gals) would be willing to give me a little advice on how I can be more proactive in elevating my score.

If you wouldn’t mind taking a few minutes to review my profile and just shoot me a few tips. I’d be REALLY grateful.

TU is 665

EQ is 643

EX is  630

Sallie Mae account $144 -age 16 years old

Sallie Mae account $246 -age  16 years old

(I have 2 Sallie mae accounts)

Capital One secured card -$2300 -age 6 months old

(its reporting unsecured. The limit is $3000)

Chase auto loan -$5000 -age 4 years old

Fingerhut -$300 -age 6 months old

I have between 3 and 4 inquiries on each report.

I have 3 collections on each report.

My last late payment was March 2009

Capital One recently extended $300 unsecured on that card, making a total of $2300 CL

I utilize less than $150 on that Capital One card (I’m not certain on the % but I make a point to keep it under 10%)

My TU score has climbed significantly over the last few months, however EQ and EX have remained at 643 and 630.

Any advice to help me move forward?

And thanks again for any help.

-John

I have read many helpful posts on this forum but I can’t seem to find one that fits my dilemma.  I am looking for advice on how to proceed with a CO for a First Bank of Delaware credit card that shows on my CR and has a balance of $0, a past due balance of $0, and a High Balance of $819 with an initial credit limit of $300.  The CR shows it was opened 5/2008 and last reported on 8/2009.  The remarks section of all 3 reports states basically the same information: “charged off as bad debt and purchased by another lender” but the “new” lender does not appear on my report although this was last reported in 2009.

I have tried to call the credit card company to offer a PFD but the number is disconnected.  What are my options if I can’t even reach them?  Do I send a DV letter to the address listed for the OC?   I believe the SOL for my state is 3 years.  I  would like this TL removed from my CR ASAP.  How do I proceed from this point?

Hello All.

So almost two years ago, I ordered a “no contract phone”  with a monthly bill online from T-mobile for my son.  When I got the phone, they had issued it with a Florida phone number.  The Problem with that is I live in Washington State.  I called CS and they could not help me, told me to go into a store.  So I went into a T-mobile store and the guy in there issued me a local number.

Then…..when the bill came in, they charged me for both numbers.  I called CS and again they told me that I would have to pay BOTH bills.  I went into the store and they told me they could not do anything and that I would have to call the billing dept.  I called billing and the lady I spoke to said that there was nothing she could do and that I would have to pay the bill.  I could not believe that.  It was just plain wrong.  I told her I would not be paying that second line and I offered to pay her just for the one line and she said I could make a partial payment, but that I would still have a balance for the Florida number.  I was so mad.  I told her that I would not pay for their mistake and that I wanted to cancel the phone.

About a month later I got a bill in the mail for 200.00.  They charged me for the early cancellation of the phone.  Now it is on my credit report and I am not sure what to do about it.  Does anyone have any advice on how to deal with T-Mobile on this one.  I guess I should have just paid the bill, but it was wrong in my eyes.  I have never gotten a bill for the (wrong) amount due which was about 130.00.  Only the 200.00 bill for early cancellation.  Any Advice would be great. Thank you

Hello all, I’m about to get a new car. My EQ is 510 and my Trans is 530. I’m 28 New Yorker with no prior auto loans. The thing is with my refund I just paid off almost ALL of my debt which wasn’t a lot ($3400). So as of now i’m completely debt free beside the $48 balance I left on first premier. How long should I wait till I start car shopping? I was looking @ march as my date to buy. Also any advice on how I should approach this? This is what my previous history looked like.

Degoratories 3 60 day lates

Late payments 9 months ago

and recent high credit was @ 91%

How long does it take to go up? My fico simulator said I should be between 610 and 640 within a months time.

I have a debt for $750 that was just sent to a CA. The issue is that about half of the debt is valid, the other half is absolutely not. I would like to:

1) dispute the invalid portion and

2) offer to pay the valid portion in order to settle the entire debt.

Any advice on how to handle the above and what kind of letter should I write? Any CA dispute example letters you can refer me to?

Thanks!
