Looking for advice..weird scenerio

Mar 032011

Here’s my current negative activity:

  1. 11/1999 – Bad debt/collection  - $1600
  2.  9/1999 – Bad debt/collection  - $0
  3. Not on Record – 120+ days past due  - - $0
  4. 5/2007 – Pays account as agreed  - $218
  5. 5/2002 – 120+ days past due (student loan)
  6. 1/2002 – 120+ days past due (student loan)
  7. 8/2000 – 120+ days past due (student loan)
  8. 9/1999 – 120+ days past due (student loan)
  9. 8/1999 – 120+ days past due (student loan)
  10. 6/2004 – Bad debt/collection - $0
  11. Not on Record -120+ days past due (student loan)
  12. Not on Record -120+ days past due (student loan)
  13. Not on Record -120+ days past due (student loan)
  14. Not on Record -120+ days past due (student loan)
  15. Not on Record -120+ days past due (student loan)
  16. 10/2002 – Pays account as agreed - $0
  17. 11/1999 – Pays account as agreed

The two things with balances, I have paid, so they will zero out soon. The remainder all have a zero balance, so there’s nothing I can pay on them! I have contacted the student loans and sent a good will letter asking them to delete. I previously filed a dispute asking them to update, but they have not done so.

I think I will see a jump when those 2 balances are gone, but does anyone else have any advice on things I could do?? I have filed disputes on all of these and I’ve only had success getting one removed.

I have really bad credit. My fico score is 548. I’m young (22) and made some mistakes when I was even younger.  It’s very frustrating, and I really regret that I let it get this way. =( I feel so ashamed, and it’s unfortunate that I can’t purchase a new car, or a home, and I am paying double what I would on a house payment in rent!! It’s my fault, I just need a little guidance on where to begin to improve it!! I’ve read that sometimes it’s better to let an account just “fall off” of your credit report, instead of paying it. Please look at my accounts below, and let me know what you would advise.

I also have one judgement (it’s less than $500) I made a few payments but haven’t made any in over a year! It was from a orthodontist, I went for a FREE consultation, I never received a bill, a phone call, or any follow-up from his office, until of course I went to court.  Should I pay it off?

3 Negatives and 1 collection

Aug 052010

Hello!  I am working on rebuilding my credit so that when my Discharged Ch. 13 falls off in Nov. 2011 I can buy a house.  Here is what I have on my report I pulled from MyFico.

The following have I paid off in full, but want to know if anything can be done about the late pays. :smileysad:

Conn’s – Bal is 0, Pays account as agreed, worst delinquency of 120 days.  Opened in 11-2006 and DOLA 04-2010.

Care/Gemb – Bal is 0, Pays account as agreed, worst delinquency of 90 days.  Opened in 11-2006 DOLA 09-2009

Hsbc Bank – Bal is 0, Pays account as agreed, worst delinquency of 60 days. Opened 06-2007 DOLA 04-2010

The collection appeared in Mar 2010 from an agency who is collecting money for my previous apartment complex.  Apartments claim $673 to repair carpet.  IMO the carpet was already 3-4 years old when I moved in, so it should have been their responsibility to pay for replacing especially after paying pet rent and deposit.  The carpet was not even damaged.

MyFico Score – 08/2010 589

Thank you and God Bless!
