Hello!  I’m new and embarrassed about my credit score EQ 608.  I am currently paying down debt and taking action to better my credit scores.

I currently have 5 seperate student loans-didn’t understand that my when I did make a payment they were split up into 5 seperate payments.  I was behind 8+ months. =(  Even though Nelnet took over my loans from SunTrust, during that time, I closed my acct at the bank (signed up for joint at my husband’s bank), moved, got married, changed jobs and took a huge pay cut.  I’m not making excuses, it is definately my fault for not following up on my loans.  When I saw how far behind I was-I’m either a moron or in denial but I was scared-I called Nelnet and they put me on deferrment in Jan ’10.  My payment is $68.88 so I began making triple payments of $100 each beginning Nov ’09.  I thought I was caught up in Feb but found out big chunks of my payments had gone to interests & late fees for each acct and I was still about 300ish away from being caught up.

I printed my CR and saw that this was listed in the negative.  I contacted Nelnet and apologized and explained that I have been making 3 payments a month of $100 each for 5 months to catch up even while in deferrment and if they would kindly remove this from my CR.  They replied and were very nice about it but said I would need to contact the CR regarding this.  I have yet to do that.  not sure how to go about it since my CR is showing in deferrment and not late amount listed.  Shamely enough, I have listed below  some info on my Student Loans.  Is there anything that I can do other than a GW letter and proof of payments while in deferrment to show that I am trying?  Any info and advice would be greatly appreciated!
