Hi,

My subject pretty much sums it up…I’m trying to re-establish credit after living abroad for 3 years. I’d like to know what good, if any, having FAKO scores does? My Experian Plus score is 630..my Transunion is 666 (figures, ha!) but my Equifax is about 598 (a 4 year old utility bill on that one). I can’t get a FICO score, it says I don’t have enough information to generate one. So will the lack of any FICO hurt me?

I have disputed some stuff that shouldn’t be on my report, such as an account supposedly opened while I was living in the UK, other than that I have an old paid utility bill and a student loan that is paid in full, no credit cards.I have a car loan but the loan company isn’t reporting it, they claim they can’t be sure I am who I say I am….despite having *all* of my personal info in front of them. We are also faced with having to get a new car loan because the dealership sold us a lemon, so our current loan is giving us absolutely no benefit.

So I’m not really sure what to do next…I’ve been turned down for lack of credit, and my husband was even declined by a credit card specifically for new expats who have no credit..and the reason was: lack of credit! ;)
