A tax lien has been reported for past due taxes. How do I start to repair the damage on the credit score? How long will this affect me? Will this affect my innocent spouse’s credit score? How do I protect my spouse’s score??

I have no job and no income, nor will I be able to until mid 2011, when we can afford child care, so I can work. At that time, I am prepared to pay them my entire year’s salary and be done with them already. Until then, we are hand to mouth with his salary as is.
