I’m not even sure where to go with this but I have a feeling this CA is really screwing me over. First of all, they are not revealing the interest rate they are charging me each month instead I get this statement:
“Your account balance may be periodically increased due to the addition of accrued interest or other charges as provided in your agreement with the original creditor or as otherwise provided by state law.” I’m not really sure what my original agreement was and I live in California. My Feb. 2010 statement looks a little like this:
Â
Creditor: Citibank (South Dakota) NÂ
Account #: (my citi account number)
Principal: 3521.07
Interest: 64.80
Int Rate: BLANK
Costs: 0.00
Coll Chg: 0.00
Other” 0.00
Amt Owed: 3585.87
Scheduled Payment Amount: $100.00
Date Due: 02/17/10
Â
Then they instruct me to make my check payable to Citibank and they have their own account number for me.
Â
Now this is what really concerns me…here is the information for my January 2010 statement:
Â
Creditor: Citibank (South Dakota) NÂ
Account #: (my citi account number)
Principal: 3521.07
Interest:74.80
Int Rate: BLANK
Costs: 0.00
Coll Chg: 0.00
Other” 0.00
Amt Owed: 3585.87
Scheduled Payment Amount: $100.00
Date Due: 01/18/10
Â
SAME AMOUNTS!!! Eventhough I paid in Jan. these two bills are for the SAME AMOUNTS! Isn’t this criminal???
Â
I tried calling Citibank directly and they say they can’t talk to me about this (which I find odd because I’m making the check out to them…). Does anybody have any ideas how I should pursue with this? Â
Â
Thanks!
Valerie
