What is a PIC freeze ?
A PIC freeze prevents anyone from changing your long distance carrier without your approval. In order to place or remove a PIC freeze on your phone line you must call your local telephone service provider and request it. This is generally a free service. Usually they will ask you for a password so only you will be able to change the PIC freeze status in the future. Once you change to our service, it is a good idea to place a PIC freeze on your line to prevent being slammed to a higher rate carrier without your knowledge.
