I’ve been racking my brain trying to figure out why my wife’s TU is much lower than her other reports EQ is reporting a 677 but her TU is showing 602 then I noticed that this Cap 1 CO is reporting incorrectly.

This CO was settled to avoid a lawsuit but the account hasn’t been updated to show that. So last week we mailed the settlement agreements which show this was settled in full and a copy of the cashier’s check to the CRAs. Then today I noticed that the account is showing as being updated recently (03/2010) but the past due amount was not changed to zero as it should be. In addition the date closed had been changed to 02/2010 when it should be 9/2005.

As a result of this her FICO scores are reporting that she has a 30 day late when it shouldn’t be.

We haven’t received anything from TU yet about our dispute and the account has not been marked as in dispute either

We are trying to obtain a mortgage and this is proving to be a problem.

Can someone offer some advice on how best to resolve this?

Just as an aside: We tried contacting Cap 1 but they would not speak to us told us to speak with the CA. The CA has told us to speak with Cap 1 :smileymad: :smileysad:

I have a theoretical question – I’d love anyone’s input and/or theory. Let’s say:
