We have 2 medical-related judgements and one from a credit card on our credit report. We spoke to a lender about buying a home and he said every mortgage companay would deny us because the people who have the judgements against us would put a lein on the property until they were paid. Is that true?

I currently have savings attached to my mortgage but have a credit card that needs to be paid off.
Am I better off leaving the savings with my mortgage and making small payments on my credit card or putting it on my credit card?
I have 20% deposit, and am easily keeping up with mortgage, so I’ll pay off my credit card.

Thanks for your help

My sister is trying to settle an underwater 2nd mortgage with her lender. She has remained current in all payments. Would a settlement for less than the full value of the note affect her credit?

What about if she arranged a short sale of the home? Does a short sale negatively impact your credit?

So as most of you know, Macy’s removed their credit limit’s around March of 2011. Now to purchase almost anything you need to call first and ask to see if it’ll be "approved" or not, on top of all that since they removed credit limit’s they don’t report the limit on your credit report which may or may not affect your utilization since it’ll report a balance but no limit…..

Well i recently called because i wanted to do a little christmas shopping, before calling i knewi had a $ 100 limit….. i called to see if they’d increase it to $ 400 overall. She said that i should try a larger amount so that they’d counter offer the maximum, well i said ok and told her to try $ 10,000, well as it turns out, i was approved for a $ 10,000 limit on my macy’s card… i didn’t even know they gave those limits on macys cards!!!!

So when it comes down to it… That extra $ would greatly help my utilization percentage…. too bad they don’t report the limits…. doesn’t that suck?!?! any way of me getting them to report my limit?!?!?! anyone think it’ll ever change????

byMANILA IMPERIAL MOTOR SALES . . . .

so i want to buy a house….one day…. is there any way to not have credit cards, but still somehow get a credit history and therefore a credit rating towards a mortgage?

We are in the process of a getting a mortgage. The processor needs a credit inquiry letter for 3 recent credit inquiries. The one is from a credit card company.

The problem is, we have’t applied for a credit card recently. So we don’t know why this credit inquiry is on our report or how to explain it. We haven’t acquired any new debt.

How do we explain this on a credit inquiry letter?

first of all, its possible im posting this in the wrong forum section. but i think i was reading a thread in this part of the forum where someone mentioned how a collection agency (or junk debt buyer) was spanked by the court for pulling someone’s credit report without first having proof of assignment of the credit card debt or without owning the debt first.

does this ring a bell to anyone? i am very interested in that court case as it relates to credit cards and assignments of debt and the ability to pull someone’s credit, etc.

i thought i bookmarked that thread, but i am having trouble finding it

My fiance pays my mortgage payment but the loan and house are in my name only. Can he claim the loan interest tax credit? If so how do I allow it? What forms do I need?
He also lives here, so is it still a gift?

I had a score of around 700 and recently bought a home for 200k. I got a 30 year fixed loan at 5 percent. I’m only 23… Well I just checked my score and its now 687. I’m guessing my score went down due to mortgage loan. How long will it take to go back up? And how much does a mortgage improve my credit?
