I’ll be serious for a week (I’m 16) the first license, I want to know how soon after I got the license, I need to have car insurance to drive legally? I would like to promote the day, I had my license, but my parents do not want to join me for their insurance plan in advance the possibility of not taking the exam with me. Is their any kind of grace period, so I drive one day, I have my license, so I can not wait until completion of the test to buy insurance?

Either…..
A. You are suppose to be insured already because you are operating it with a permit
or
B. The vehicle just needs to be insured in general, and when you get your license you can be added to the insurance immediately. Your name needs to be on the policy before you can drive alone though.
Depends what state you reside in, however you shouldn’t need to purchase a policy for yourself until you own a car, by borrowing your parents car you should be covered under their policy unless you drive it everyday…….so basically without getting into the complicated insurance speak, you can drive legally as soon as you get your license and get an insurance policy when you have a car you drive all the time
