  1. Unfortunatly there is not.
You would have to claim any damaged personal property thru your Home/Tenants Insurance policy.
If that is not possible as you don’t carry that kind of insurance then you will not be able to claim anything. Sorry

    Hope this helps.

  2. Sorry, no portion of an auto policy covers personal property.

If you have homeowners or renters insurance you could possibly try and file the claim with that company.

Untimately though, I would think it would be almost cheaper to buy a new laptop than deal w/ the insurance and a deductible.

  3. If your laptop was in your car and you are wanting your auto insurance company to pay for it……the answer is no. It’s not covered under your policy. However, you may have coverage under your homeowners/renters policy (if you have it). However, your homeowners/renters deductible will apply.

Now….if the lap top was in your car and another person caused the accident resulting in damage to your car and your lap top. Then the at fault drivers liability coverage will apply to your lap top. However, it pays the depreciated value of the lap top (if it is a total loss). It does not pay the replacement cost of the lap top.

  4. If there is any recovery, it will be from your homeowners or renters policy, not from the coverage on the vehicle you were in. Most homeowners/renters policy’s, however specifically exclude Electronic items such as a laptop.

  5. There are tons of places where you can get a free insurance quote. http://www.easyautoinsuranceguide.com It only takes about 5 minutes to do.
